OROBKO, Orest Michael

With great sadness we announce the passing of Orest Michael Orobko on Sunday, January 10th, 2010. He is predeceased by his father, John, and his mother, Pearl. Orest is survived by his son, Steven English, and his grandson, Brayden English. He also leaves behind his brothers: Lester (Elsa), Michael, Ronald (Laura) and Patrick (Vicki). Nieces and nephews: Derek; Tracey (Jim), Kimberley and Ryan; Lee (Lindsay) and Rhonda; Zenon, Ainsley and Molly; Great nieces and nephews: Jessica, Ally Tanner and Nick. Orest was born on April 30, 1946 in Melfort, SK. He attended school in Irvington and Star City. Upon graduation, he attended Kelsey in Saskatoon and obtained his woodworking certificate. He worked at Domtar before moving to Maple Ridge, BC. There he worked for Cooper Boats and Mohawk Industries before semi-retiring in 2007 and working part time at Rona. He loved his family and friends more than anything. He was a huge Roughrider fan, and his home decor reflected that passion. Over the years Orrie spent his free time golfing, woodworking, playing hockey and travelling to see Steven and Brayden and to SK to visit and watch the sunset. Above all he made everyone around his smile and laugh. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. The Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at 11892 Ponderosa Blvd in the Meadow Highlands Mobile Park in Pitt Meadows, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Epilepsy Society,#510-999 West Broadway, Vancouver, BC V5Z 1K5, or Steven English (trust to be set up for Orrie's grandson Brayden English).
