PAYNE ~ Pauline Helen

Was released, at last, from her mental and physical trials on Tuesday,January 23, 2007. She was predeceased by her husband Clif, sister Rose and brothers Adolf and Clem. She is survived by her sisters Carol, Anne and Mary, her brother John (Shirley) and sister-in-law Vi, her sons Al and Wilf (Elaine), grandchildren Tristen and Scott. Pauline was born 81 years ago in St. Walburg, Sk., moving to Vancouver in her early twenties. She met and married Clif in B.C. and they settled on Vancouver Island, where they raised their two sons. She valued truth and hard work. Her spirit, determination and great desire to do things independently got the family through some lean times after she and her sons moved to Haney (now Maple Ridge). Her Saskatchewan roots made her tough and strong, and those qualities were tempered with a really good sense of humour.

Pauline benefited greatly in her last years from the care she received from the staff and administrators at Cartier House care facility in Coquitlam. They made her life as comfortable and endurable as possible. Her family thanks them very much.

No services or funeral will be held. Instead, Pauline's family will hold a private gathering to reflect on and celebrate her life.
