born Aarhus Denmark May 22, 1922 ~ July 12, 2007 in Maple Ridge B.C.

It is with great sadness, that the children of Poul Anker Nielsen, announce the passing of their father. Poul came to Canada with his wife Inga and 5 of his 7 children in 1956. Two of his children were born here in Canada.

Poul and Inga came to Maple Ridge, B.C. in 1971 and made their home here. In his later years, Poul was active in the Danish communities in both Burnaby and Surrey. As a craftsman, he was instrumental in building many of the fishing vessels in Albion.

Poul is predeceased by his parents in the 1950’s and his wife Inga, on November 8, 1999. Poul is survived by his 7 children, Per Homer (Margaret), Leon Edmund (Pat), Jess Rosenholm (Judy), Ejnar Sigvald (Wendy), Poula Marzella (Rick), Lynda (Mike), and Paul Anker (Linda), as well as numerous grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

The family of Poul Nielsen would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to the staff of Miller’s Pond in Bailey House.

Funeral service was held Monday, July16th in the MAPLE RIDGE FUNERAL CHAPEL (Osborn's). Interment at Carmen Cemetery, Sardis, B.C. In lieu of flowers, the Nielsen family requests donations be made to The Parkinson’s Society.
