FAIRWEATHER: Raymond Stanley Passed away peacefully on February 17, 2005, age 71. He is survived by his loving wife Gerry. They were married for 49 years, together for 54 years. Survived by his children, Bruce (Cheryl), Brent (Leah), Jamie and Janet. Grandchildren Adam, Colin, Tommy, Chelsea, Holly, Jaime, Courtney and Owen. Sisters Ruth Goulet, Anne Banford (Fred), brothers Robert (Isobel) Alan (Irene), Doug (Pat) and many nieces and nephews. Ray was born in New Westminster on November 8, 1933. Married his high school sweetheart, Gerry on August, 20, 1955. They resided in New Westminster and Coquitlam until 1973 when they moved their family to Fairweather Haven on the Alouette River. They spent 24 years there before short stays in Mission and Abbotsford, returning to Maple Ridge in 2004. Ray was employed by the Hudson’s Bay Company for 43 years, starting as a salesman and working through the ranks to Accounts Payable Manager. He was highly respected by both management and staff. Always a family man, Ray devoted his life to his wife, children, grandchildren and many other children that he cared for. Ray enjoyed all types of music, spending 5 years performing with the Greater Vancouver Operatic Society and 17 years with the Kirby Singers. Ray spent many hours working on and enjoying their beautiful riverfront property. Many thanks go out to all those who support Ray during his illness, especially Dr. Christopher Finch, and dear friend Betty-Ann Doucette, who was such a loving care giver, always there when needed. Service of remembrance will take place on Saturday, February 26, 2005 at 2:00 pm. Hammond United Church, 11391 Dartford St., Maple Ridge.
