TOMPKINS
Reverend Walter Charles
It is with a great sense of loss that we record the death of Reverend Walter Charles Tompkins, born in London, England on November 23, 1912. He was predeceased by his wife "Peggy" and his first son David. He is survived by his daughter Ruth, his other son Paul, his grandchildren Kyla and Reuben and his great granddaughter Iona.
Walter spent his life dedicated to the service of his Lord. In this service he was accompanied by a humorous and delightful Irish girl, his "Peggy". After graduation from Toronto Baptist Seminary, his ministry covered the whole of Canada from La Chute, Quebec, to Fort William, Ontario for twelve years, fourteen years at Killarney Baptist Church in Calgary, Alberta and eight years in Kamloops, B.C. The twilight years of his life were spent on the west coast ending at Maple Ridge Baptist Church in B.C.
A service and celebration of his life was held at Maple Ridge Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 7 at 2:00P.M. His service, commitment and dedication will be greatly missed.
