McIntosh, Robert 1925 - 2009

June 7, 2009 Robert silently slipped away at Ridge Meadows Hospital. Robert will be greatly missed by his wife of 60 years, Arleigh, his daughters, Lorill (Myers), Robbin (Greg), Janice (Kenny); grandchildren Arron (Sarah), Randi (Wes), Jarret, Emelie, Andrew, Nicole; great grandson Forrest sister-in-laws Sharie (Keith), Edith, Bea; nieces Lesley (Steve), Sylvia and numerous other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents James and Isabella; brothers, Jim, Bill, Alex and son Scott. Robert was born in Winnipeg and later moved to Vancouver with his family where he met the "love of his life", Arleigh at age 11. They married on February 5, 1949 and celebrated their 60th Anniversary this past February. He retired at age 55, after 35 years service with Canada Post as a Station Manager and was a WWll veteran. Robert spent most of his life in Vancouver, and enjoyed his last 19 years in Maple Ridge living close to his daughters. Robert pursued many activities during his lifetime including tennis, badminton, traveling, camping, family get togethers, was an avid reader, crossword aficionado and spent countless hours relaxing in front of the fire at the Glen. Robert was a wonderful husband, a great father and was totally devoted to his family.
