BRUNEAU, Roger Dennis

Of Maple Ridge, passed away peacefully at Royal Columbian Hospital on November 14, 2009, surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lucille, 6 children, 12 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild with 2 more on the way, many siblings, nephews, nieces, and friends. Roger was born in Willowbunch, Saskatchewan in 1928, and moved to Maillardville, BC in 1948, where he met Lucille and raised their family. Roger loved life and never wasted a minute. He was respected in his community for his involvement in the French Scouting Organization, the Red Cross, and the Knights of Columbus. Roger loved his family, his years of retirement in Arizona with Lucille, golf, woodworking, garage sales, and summer at the cabin at Hatzic Lake where he water-skied into his 70’s. Roger was not easily discouraged. He always had something to do, make, or learn. He was a determined and positive-minded man, and an example of how to live life to the fullest, which he did ‘til the very end. Prayers will be held at 7:00pm on Friday, November 20th and a Funeral Mass at 1:00pm on Saturday, November 21st at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 828 Laval Square, Coquitlam. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted towards the Poor Clares of Mission - St. Clares Monastery, PO Box 3370, Mission, BC, V3M 1X5.
