Shirley WATKINS

April 5, 2005

WATKINS - SHIRLEY MORSE (COMMANS) went home to God Tuesday, April 5th, 2005. She was predeceased by her husband George in 1990, and her three siblings. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Dixie (Martin Polz), granddaughter Tonya (Joe Kahlert), great grandchildren Alexis, John Paul and Miranda Kahlert whom she just adored. Shirley will also be missed by several nieces & nephews, extended family and her many friends. Shirley was born September 18th 1923 in Admiral, Saskatchewan and moved all over the prairies before arriving in Albion with her family on a cold windy day in January 1947. They logged, built homes, and farmed the “hilltop” where she happily lived until her passing. Shirley worked in Haney for many years at Foodland, Emerson’s Market, then in the dental offices of Dr. Nikifourk and later Dr. Wu. Shirley was, for many years, a dedicated member of both the Albion Community Club and the Catholic Women’s League. She was an avid gardener. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday April 9th 11:30 am at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Fr. Frank Landry officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation in appreciation for the excellent care she received while in hospital. She has now gone home to help tend God’s gardens. MAPLE RIDGE FUNERAL CHAPEL (Osborn’s). Ph: 604-463-8121
