Stanley Gordon (Ike)

Passed away peacefully on June 12, 2009 at the age of 89. Ike was a long time Maple Ridge resident with a large extended family and many friends. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years Molly in 1995 and is survived by his four children Bob (Verla) McLaughlin, Leslie (Bernie) Feedham, Wendy McKinney, Sandi (Ken) Hall; grand children Mike, Leanne, Bob, Sean, Clayton and Dayna, six great grandchildren, his brother Don McLaughlin as well as many nieces and

nephews. Ike was the second youngest of 12 children, growing up in the Peace River farming area of Alberta. Leaving home to serve his country overseas in the Second World War,

he returned to Canada with his war bride Molly to settle in Maple Ridge and raise a family on a farm as he had been raised. Ike worked in construction on the Fraser Canyon, the Hammond Mill and the Corrections Service in Boulder Bay and Stave Lake. Ike was passionate about family, friends, the outdoors, traveling and living life to the fullest. A Memorial Service will be held for Ike on Friday June 19, 2009, 2:00 pm at the MAPLE RIDGE FUNERAL CHAPEL (Osborn’s) 11969 216th Street, Maple Ridge. In lieu of flowers donations to Canuck Place Children’s Hospice will be greatly appreciated.
