Following a short but intense struggle with cancer, Sylvia was taken up to heaven, to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on March 13, 2024, shortly after her 85th birthday. She passed away peacefully, assured of her salvation.
Left behind to remember her fondly is her loving husband of almost 67 years, Walter.
She was a caring mother to John (Pat), Debbie (Jack deceased) Van Starkenburg, Rick, and Cindy (Bert) VandeRiet.
She was Oma to 15 grandchildren, Great Oma to 23 and great, great Oma to three.
She was predeceased by ten siblings.
She leaves behind her best friend of 61 years, Audrey Fairbairn.
She also leaves behind her extended family, caring good neighbors and her beloved church family.
