Thelma Doreen (Wright)
Passed away peacefully on Friday, April 13, 2007, after the long goodbye of Alzheimer's disease. She was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, June 27, 1917, marrying William (Bill) Edwards in 1939. They then lived there, in Duncan and Sidney B.C. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Cartier house Coquitlam, for the loving care and compassion shown to Thelma during her 3 years there. She was a kind and gentle soul who will be very much missed by all who knew her.
Thelma is survived by her four children: Mel (Lidia) Edwards, Joyce (John) Haller, Keith Edwards, and Wayne (Charlotte) Edwards; her nine grandchildren: Sean, Bryce, Mike, Kristen, Kelly, Elisha, Lindsey, Blake and Vanessa, and her four great grandchildren: Ben, Sam, Felicity, and Austin. She is predeceased by her husband Bill, 1992, and her brother David.
A service of remembrance for Thelma will be held on Thursday, April 19, at 2:00 pm at Garden Hill Funeral Chapel, 11765-224th St, Maple Ridge, with a reception to follow. Internment will take place on Friday, April 20 at 2:00 pm at Hatley Memorial Gardens, 2050 Sooke Road, Colwood. Reception to follow at 3:00 pm at St Paul's United Church, 2410 Malaview Ave, Sidney. In lieu of flowers, donations in Thelma's memory will be gratefully accepted at the Alzheimer Society of BC, #300-828 W8th Ave, Vancouver, BC, V5Z 1E2.
