SHARPE, THEODORE LELAND After living a strong and fulfilled life passed away peacefully on June 6, 2004 at the age of 86.”Ted” was born in Taber, Alberta April 21, 1918. The family returned to Pitt Meadows when he was 7 years old. Except for his time overseas during World War II he resided in Pitt Meadows where he remained until the end. Ted worked his way up into senior management and eventually became a part owner of Fraser River Pile Driving from which he retired on his 60th birthday. Ted was a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion (Branch 88), the Eagles, and the Golden Ears Curling Club. He was an active sportsman in his youth and was particularly proficient in Lacrosse and Baseball, he was always a passionate hunter and fisherman until his death. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and a dedicated and loyal friend. Ted was the stuff of which Legends are made. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his wife Flora (nee Leslie), his four children Leslie (Tom) Holtby, Laurie (Walter) Morley), Lindsay “Ted” Sharpe, and Robert (Louise) Sharpe, his five grandchildren; Danika, Brenna, Leland, Scott, and Alanna; his three great grandchildren, Holten, Delaney, and Ashlin; as well as many good friends and relatives.A funeral service will be held on June 13, 2004 at 10:00am in the Lounge of the Royal Canadian Legion (Branch 88) at 12101 – 224th Street, Maple Ridge.If family and friends so desire donations may be made in Ted Sharpe’s memory to Ducks Unlimited or the Canadian Diabetes Association, please contact Ducks Unlimited at 1-866-384-DUCK (3825) Mailing Address: Unit 511 – 13370 – 78th Ave, Surrey, BC, or the Canadian Diabetes Association at 1-800-BANTING (226-8464).The Family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Allen Neufeld and the Nursing staff on 2 West and at the T.C.
