STREET Thomas Gerald

STREET, Thomas Gerald (Jerry) born March 27, 1926 in Warspite, Alberta, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2009. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Elsie, daughters Geraldine (Don), Cindy (Reynold), son Reg (Martina) and grandchildren Leah (Leon), Elizabeth, Leeland and Julia. Also survived by his brothers Doc (June) and Peter (Mary), sister-in-law Martha, cousin Art (Sheila) and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Mary, brothers John and Bill, and brother-in-law Doug.

Jerry proudly served his country during WWII as a gunner stationed in Halifax protecting the Eastern seaboard. After marrying in 1951, Jerry and Elsie started raising a family and Jerry joined Trans Mountain Pipeline in 1957. Jerry and Elsie enjoyed spending time at Skaha Lake and became Arizona snowbirds. Jerry was an athlete and a sportsman and enjoyed baseball, curling, boating and in later years, cycling. He was community minded and volunteered his time and skills wherever the family was stationed on the pipeline. Jerry's family was his dearest possession and he will be remembered for his sense of humor, outgoing personality, and time spent with the kids.

A celebration of Jerry's life will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2009 from 2:00 - 5:00 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion, 12101 224th Street, Maple Ridge, B.C.
