Passed away quietly March 27, 2007. He will be greatly missed by our special friend Islay Puckett. Pre-deceased in 1989 by his wife Inez (Avery) Halverson, and in 2007 by his sister Alice in Fort Macleod, Alberta. He leaves to mourn his brother Hazen in Toronto, and children Helen (Paul) of Maple Ridge, David (Fay) of Calgary, and Glen (Gina) of Courtenay, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Victor was born in Gull Lake, Saskatchewan on May 29, 1918. From 1939 to 1945 he served in WWII, including several campaigns in Europe and Africa. He was a resident of Maple Ridge since 1954, most of this time in the Webster's Corner area. He lived at Pioneer Village in Maple Ridge since 1986.

Victor was active in the Scouting movement as a leader for many years. He received Christ as his Saviour shortly before he passed away. A celebration of his life will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday, April 1 at the home of Matt and Deanna Laity, 20981-123 Ave, Maple Ridge. Donations in his memory may be made to the Cancer Society or the Red Cross.
