HANKEY Wayne George
It is with great sadness we announce that Wayne passed away suddenly in the comfort of his home in Port Coquitlam on May 26, 2009 at 68 years of age. He was born August 26, 1940 in Tisdale, Saskatchewan and is predeceased by his father Peter and mother Elizabeth. Wayne will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years, Judy; children Darryl (Susan) and Darren (Yvette); and his precious grandchildren Gabrielle and Tristan and many family members and friends. He was a dedicated RCMP officer for 35 years, but his real passion was his family. With a successful career and a busy life, Wayne always put his family first. Wayne will be remembered for his generosity, sense of humour, compassion and the unconditional love he gave to his family. Wayne was a true example of love and kindness; he had a real passion for life and we will miss him terribly.
Some men leave their mark on the world by the way they lived and the difference they make in the lives they touch.
A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, May 30th at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Assumption Church, 3141 Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam, B.C. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Wayne's name.
