It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Bill on Sept. 7, 2006, after a lengthy illness. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife June, daughters Ann (Colin), Margaret (Tony), sons Bill and David, step- children Randy (Dorothy) Kathy (Stan Chris (Leahann) and Brad, 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, sister Jean and nephews John, Allan and Melvin. His brother Peter pre- deceased him.

Upon emigrating from Scotland in 1949 Bill worked as a heavy duty shovel operator throughout B.C. He went on to be in partnership in a car dealership and garage in New Westminster. From there he began a long career with the W.E. Dunning Publishing Co. (the Maple Ridge Gazette and the Port Coquitlam Herald) until his retirement in 1983.

Bill was Top Gun in hydro boat racing with 3 National win years, the first Canadian to be in the 100 m.p.h. club for the 225 class hydros. He raced for 15 years, winning many awards.

Upon his retirement Bill and June enjoyed many motor cycle trips, including a tour of Europe.

A Celebration of Bill's Life will be held Sept 16th, 2006, 2:00 p.m. at Burkeview Chapel 1340 Dominion Ave., Port Coquitlam.
