It is with great sadness we announce the passing of William Stephen Harrington on March 7, 2010, in Penticton, BC, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Lovingly remembered by his wife, Cheryl, children Bill Harrington, Penny [Jody] Gaston, Heather [Pierre] d'Auteuil, Scott Harrington, grandsons Dylan, Tay, Trace and Cobey, all of Maple Ridge, BC, parents Jim and Shirley Harrington, Okanagan Falls, BC, brothers Jack [Diane] Lethbridge, Alberta, Jim [Linda] Maple Ridge, Bob [Laurie] Okanagan Falls, Brian [Lillian] Mission, BC, nieces and nephews, cousin Janice Dahl, extended famiily Pre-deceased by niece Robin Harrington. Bill's home town was Nobleford, Alberta. After high school Bill joined the RCMP and was posted to Chilliwack, Cultus Lake, Vancouver, Hope, Richmond, BC, Faro and Whitehorse, Yukon, Ottawa, Ontario. He met many wonderful people over the years and had some very interesting experiences. His favourite posting was Faro, Yukon. Bill retired from the RCMP in1988 and moved to Maple Ridge, BC. He undertook his second career as an investigator for the Federal government. For the past 8 years he enjoyed living in the Okanagan and building the log home he dreamed about. His children were his pride and joy and he especially enjoyed his little grandsons. A remembrance will be held at a later date.
