Cyclist Antoinetta DeWit is pleased to see a marked bike lane on 203rd Street south of Lougheed Highway. (Special to The News)

Dear Editor,

Freshly paved new cycling path on 203!

As a cyclist and Maple Ridge taxpayer, I commend the city for including a clearly marked cycling lane on 203rd Street south of Lougheed Highway. It is not really the best possible option for cycling safety, but with team work between cyclists and drivers, we can make this cheapest version work!

I would feel better with cemented risers along the line or attractive sections of wrought iron fencing, but for now I am a fairly happy taxpayer!

Antoinetta DeWit, Maple Ridge
