Dear Editor,

Drivers coming into Maple Ridge going north and east face three bottlenecks daily. They have three choices – the airport industrial park exit, the Lougheed exit, or continue on the Golden Ears path, which goes from three lanes to two lanes to one lane.

Expansion of that stretch of the Golden Ears Parkway from one lane to two from the golf course all the way to 210th Street is needed. It will alleviate traffic on the other two routes.

Has this been approved? If not, then why is it not the priority before widening Abernethy? That is a nice long-term plan but currently it does nothing to improve traffic flow. It is a road to nowhere!

Drivers would like to see traffic planning that makes sense, something that would get them home and in their driveways 20 minutes quicker which by the way also lessens the greenhouse gas problems and helps the climate change issue.
