Editor, The News:

We, advocates for the fentanyl crisis, are having a huge issue due to some residents of Maple Ridge not accepting a homeless shelter that goes by the name RainCity.

The temporary shelter came up with strategic ideas that successfully saved many lives, and spread so much help in the community.

But now it is closed, and for the 31 people who lived there, they are losing their home or a safe place to use.

We are looking for support.

‘How dare she’

Editor, The News:

Regarding Maple Ridge Mayor Nicole Read, I am absolutely disgusted by her comments on CBC. How dare she use cancer to compare to the junkies in the tent city.

She has offended all the people of Maple Ridge and everyone who has dealt with cancer, spewing trash like that.

It is time for her to step down and let someone clean up the mess she created.
