Ridge hospice families deserve break on parking

Editor, The News:

My husband is dying of cancer and residing at the hospice on Laity Street.

I spend every moment possible with him, but my dilemma is that there is only paid parking – $16 per day.

When I called Impark about monthly or weekly rates, I was told Ridge Meadows Hospital only allowed those rates for employees. Parking on Cutler Avenue is only two hours, so if I want to park there I have to move my car every two hours, and on 117 Avenue, it is very hard to find a free spot.

At this stage of my husband’s illness, I don’t need to be playing where-do-I-park-my-car-today or having to come up with the money for the parking.

This is a hospice, not a luxury hotel. I feel the families deserve a break. There should be a flat fee or some sort of break.
