‘Destroying our downtown potential’
Editor, The News:
Re: Affordable housing needed (Letters, Sept. 19).
I disagree with Bob Goos, “minister of a church.”
I remember when Fanny’s Fabrics was leasing the building and it was totally different – it was a neighborhood.
I remember the first article I read about the Salvation Army moving in. Kathy Chui said God told her to move in there. Seriously.
I say the Caring Place is both irresponsible and unfair to the rest of us. I don’t remember getting the memo about approving the location. Was there a town meeting? Anyone?
Why don’t the citizens of Maple Ridge have a say. I just can’t sit back and ignore this issue any longer.
The Caring Place has, without any doubt in my mind, destroyed the heart of the neighborhood and, sadly, is slowly destroying our downtown core potential.
