Decision negates Silver Valley plan

Re: Fewer dollars, students, so no school (The News, Jan. 11).
I am dismayed that council has supported changing the designation from the Blaney Hamlet school site to residential development.
While I appreciate there are other levels of government involved in this complicated decision, it does not negate the fact that this violates the Silver Valley area plan.
Until all of the ongoing issues with this area plan are dealt with ( schools, access, drainage), the plan is nothing more than a fanciful work of fiction.
Residents need to be aware that just because they see it on the municipal website, it doesn’t necessarily mean its true.
