Demonstrating the true goodness of people

Re: Broken Lives (News Views, Feb. 8).
As I was reading your News Views ‘Broken lives’ and feeling your comments were sadly, all too true, there was a knock at my door.
A gentleman and his wife had my daughter’s wallet with all her ID and money. They had been in Golden Ears park.
My daughter was also in the park, working on a university project. Her lost wallet made it home even before she did thanks to this couple, who clearly do not lack character, are not shallow and were not looking for the easy way out, as the News Views had suggested.
This couple went way, way out of their way to do the right thing.
I thank them so very much for returning the wallet and demonstrating the true goodness of people.
