We want to keep Pitt Meadows unique

Editor, The News:

Re: A tale of one city, a rural district and rising taxes (The News, Nov. 29).

Amalgamation is touchy and emotional subject, especially for those of us who live in Pitt Meadows.

The city is unique and we want to keep it that way.

There are ways of saving money without giving away our autonomy.

Pitt Meadows would be in a losing position if it amalgamated with Maple Ridge because Pitt Meadows councillors could easily be outvoted on any issue because of the majority of Maple Ridge council members.
