The Maple Ridge Burrards will have a chance to sweep their three-game regular season series with the Langley Thunder Saturday night as they take on their Western Lacrosse Association rivals for the first time this season on the road.

The Burrards beat the Thunder 9-6 in their season opener, before edging them 11-10 last weekend at home.

The Burrards will make their first trip to the Langley Events Centre on Saturday to face the Thunder for the third and final time this season, before returning home on Sunday to host the Victoria Shamrocks.

Burrards coach Daren Fridge said starting goaltender Ron Schibild will likely get the start both nights, as back-up Chris Seidel continues to recover from a knee injury suffered earlier this season.

The Burrards are currently tied with the Coquitlam Adanacs for third place in the WLA standings with six points in six games.

The Burrards earned an honourable mention on the LacrosseTalk national rankings this week, finishing outside of the top seven teams in the nation.

• The Burrards next home game is this Sunday at 6:45 p.m. at Planet Ice in Maple Ridge against the Victoria Shamrocks.
