Maple Ridge Rams take PoCo volleyball tourney
The Maple Ridge Secondary School junior girls’ volleyball team won its first tournament of the season at Terry Fox secondary in Port Coquitlam last weekend.
The Rams entered the tournament having won three straight league games and proceeded to win their tournament pool without dropping a set.
The Rams defeated North Vancouver’s Sutherland Secondary in the final to take the tournament title.
Despite the Rams success of late, the group of Grade 9 and 10 student-athletes will have to win their last four matches to win their league pool and put them into the playoffs.
