Flames give up five goals in final five minutes against league's top team
The top team on the Junior B circuit handed the Ridge Meadows Flames a 7-0 beating on Friday night at Planet Ice.
The Flames were close most of the way. The Richmond Sockeyes, who top the Pacific International Junior Hockey League with a 25-6-1-0 record, led the Flames 2-0 going into the final minutes. A complete collapse in the final 4:30 of the game resulted in an embarrassing result to what what had been a tight game.
The Flames, with a record of 10-15-4-2, will host the North Delta Devils (16-14-3-1) on Friday at Planet Ice.
The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
