Pride 2003 bronze in summer tourney

The Ridge Meadows Pride ’03 softball team just completed a successful weekend at the RMMSA “Summer Series” U12 A division tournament.

Despite being the only 2003 team entered in the tournament, the Pride battled to a second-place seeding through the round robin portion, with wins over Richmond Islanders ’02, Ridge Meadows Pride ’02, and Delta Heat ’02.

The girls ran into a tough Victoria Devils ’02 team in the playoff semi-finals who eventually overcame Pride ’03s lead in the final inning to win 4-3.

That set up a rematch between Pride ’03 and Pride ’02 in the consolation final, where Pride ’03 prevailed 2-1 to take third place in the tournament.  This result will send the team into the U12 provincial championship tournament (July 11-13 in Richmond) with plenty of confidence.
