Ranked Ridge Ramblers take two of three at Chancellor tourney

The Maple Ridge Ramblers were at the senior boys basketball Chancellor Tournament at St. Thomas More over the weekend.

They lost to Handsworth 70-63, but then went on to beat Fleetwood Park 68-45 and Bunraby Mountain 71-42.

The Ramblers will play in the Victoria Police Tournament this weekend.

Their play so far this season has earned the Ramblers a place among the honourable mentions in the top-10 rankings at the AAA level.

Pitt Meadows was also at the Chancellor tourney, but lost all three of its games. The Marauders fell 59-51 to host STM, who are the second-ranked AAA team. Pitt then went on to drop games 76-69 against Vancouver’s Tupper and 71-65 to Burnaby Mountain.

Pitt will host the annual Air Show Tournament this weekend, Jan. 12-14, with its first game on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. against Cambie of Richmond.

Thomas Haney played in the Hilltop Tournament over the weekend at Sands, where it fell to Moscrop 94-48, then downed Kalamalka 89-24.
