The Ridge Meadows Pride won the silver medal as the hosts of the U-14 softball provincial championships over the weekend.

The Pride was a perfect 4-0 through the round-robin portion of the tournament, then won two more playoff games.

They met White Rock in the championship game, a team they had beaten earlier, but lost 7-0.

“I was proud to be involved with what the kids did on Sunday,” said coach Tom Bowen.

After the medal ceremonies the Pride girls immediately left for Seattle and a flight to Reno, Nevada, where they are taking part in a 150-team tournament known as the Triple Crown World Series.

They began action on Tuesday with a 4-1 loss and an 8-2 win, both games coming against California teams. They are the only Canadian team at the event.
