Ridge Meadows Royals post another big win

Junior Burrards lacrosse also defeat rivals ahead of matches in Burnaby this weekend

The Ridge City Royals beat the Cloverdale Spurs 13-6 at Pitt Meadows Athletic Park Tuesday night.

The win is the third in a recent streak of victories for the bantam baseball team, which sits third in the standings with a 20-4-1 record.

The Royals now look forward to a double-header in Burnaby against the Braves on Sunday. The first game starts at 10 a.m.

Back on track

In junior lacrosse, the Ridge Meadows Burrards defeated the Port Coquitlam Saints 11-5 Wednesday night.

It was a return to the Burrards’ winning streak after narrowly losing to the Coquitlam Adanacs 6-5 on Sunday.

The win puts the Burrards at an 8-3-1 record, good enough for third place in the league.

The Burrards next head to Burnaby’s Bill Copeland Sports Centre to face the Lakers on Saturday at 8 p.m.
