Chamber of Commerce announces list of top shops and businesses in Maple Ridge

Maple Ridge’s top shops and businesses have been named by the Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Chamber of Commerce.

And top of the list for enterprises with more than 21 employees is Triple Tree Nurseryland on Lougheed Highway.

In the category of businesses under 20 employees, Golden Ears CheeseCrafters on 128th Avenue gets the nod as the best business in the chamber’s 2012 Business Excellence Awards given out April 12.

In the home-based business category, Avanti Planning Group insurance company received the top award while Laity Pumpkin Patch and the Plant Farm on 210th Street was named best agricultural business.

The new business of the year is the Chameleon Cafe on 224th Street while the Rotary Duck Race was recognized for the best community service award.

When it comes to rewarding customer service, Lava Dining and Lounge and Crystal Vision and Hearing Centre were both noted for their approach to clients.

The best non-profit organization was considered to be the Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation.

When it comes to developing innovative products, Maple Ridge’s HyperStealth Biotechnology Corp. received the innovation award for inventing an invisible cloak.

The business person of the year is ReMax realtor Ron Antalek.

Election

•  The Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows Chamber of Commerce hosts  an all-candidates’ meeting for Thursday, May 2, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Meadowridge School, 12224 – 240th St.
