A Pitt Meadows based helicopter tour company has won an international award for the design of its brochures.
SKY Helicopters took home second place for Best Brochure in the World and was awarded Best Brochure in Canada at the 2024 Best Brochure Awards.
First place went to the LEGO toy company, noted SKY Helicopters president Kevin Pearce.
"I guess they have a slightly larger marketing budget than we do," he laughed.
More than 15,000 brochures were nominated worldwide into the competition in which companies could not nominate themselves.
SKY Helicopters was nominated by Certified Folder Display Service Inc., who distributes the brochures across Western North America.
This is the company’s first-ever win at the Best Brochure Awards.
However, it is the third win for Pearce at the competition, having previously garnered recognition for his creative direction in 2011 and 2017.
“Winning this award is an incredible honour for SKY Helicopters,” said Pearce.
“I’ve always believed in the power of storytelling through design, our brochure isn’t just a marketing tool— it’s a window into the experience we offer our guests. To have that recognized globally is a true honour," added the company's president.
In 2024, Visitor International, the international association of visitor information providers, reviewed the more than 15,000 brochure entries, which they evaluated on criteria such as design, communication effectiveness, content relevance, digital integration, and print quality.
Judges included leading industry experts from the USA, Canada, and Europe.
SKY Helicopters was founded in 2011 and has been providing both scenic helicopter tours and private charters, with a range of customized services, to some of the world’s most beautiful landscapes located locally.
Pearce noted the goal has always been to inspire people to experience the beauty of British Columbia.
"We are proud to have our efforts recognized globally. We wanted to create a marketing piece that was clear and easy for our guests to navigate through while be unique to stand out above the rest,” Pearce added.
