A dinner and silent auction is taking place to raise money for suicide prevention.
The inaugural Love Is; Suicide Prevention Fundraiser Dinner and Silent Auction aims to bring hope to the community in the fight against suicide.
Money raised will be going to the Community Services Youth Wellness Program, for programs that deal with suicide prevention and awareness in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows.
Between 200 to 250 people are expected to attend the event on Oct. 18 at Meadow Gardens Golf Course, 19675 Meadow Gardens Way in Pitt Meadows.
Lotus & Lemongrass is looking for donations from the community for the silent and live auctions.
All businesses that donate will be recognized at the event along with recognition in social media posts leading up to the fundraiser.
Tickets for the event are $45 per person. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner is at 6:30 p.m.
