The seventh annual Bees and Blueberries festival is underway in Pitt Meadows, at the Dr. Bee’s Honeyland farm.
The event will begin again on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and continue until 3:30 p.m., with entertainers including Dilly the Clown, Norden the Magician, Princess Belle, singer Ginalina, a blueberry pie eating contest and guided tours.
There are also pony rides and a petting zoo.
The day will end with a performance involving the bees themselves.
The farm is home to more than 1,000 bee colonies, and organizers invite families to “Learn more about bees by taking part in our free guided tours which includes a live bee hive opening! Also come see what you can do to keep bees healthy and support our planet by heading over to our planting corner to take home your very own free bee-friendly flower.”
Admission to this non-profit event is free, or by donation to the Ride Meadows Hospital Foundation.
