Book sale in Maple Ridge for Special Olympics

Ridge Meadows RCMP still need donations for Canada Day sale

Stock up on your summer reading at the Law Enforcement Torch Run’s book sale on Canada Day.

As the largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle for Special Olympics, the Law Enforcement Torch Run has raised over $46 million for the cause.

This year’s event takes place on July 5 and begins in Langley, goes over the Golden Ears Bridge and ends at the community garden in Pitt Meadows.

Cpl. Tony Vanags and Const. Duncan McRae will represent the Ridge Meadows RCMP in this year’s run.

The book sale takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. outside the Randy Herman Centre for Community Safety, near the ACT on July 1.

If you have books to donate, drop them off at the detachment by Monday June 30 or call Const. Tammy Herman or Const. Peter MacDonald at 604-463-6251.
