“Committees are made up of a diverse and dedicated group of residents who want to make a meaningful impact on their community,” noted City of Pitt Meadows  Mayor Nicole MacDonald.

“We encourage individuals from all walks of life and experience levels to join one of the City’s committees and contribute their valuable perspectives to inform Council decisions," MacDonald said, adding that city committees play a pivotal role in helping advise city council, providing feedback on local issues and developing solutions for the unique needs of the community.

City chief administrative officer Mark Roberts, detailed more about how committees play an important part in a number of initiatives at the City, including: the implementation plan for the Parks, Recreation and Culture Master Plan; providing feedback on agricultural initiatives and economic development in Pitt Meadows; planning the Pitt Meadows Day event; and advising on the design of building development applications in the community.

“Staff and Council place a lot of value in the diverse expertise and feedback provided by city committees,” he said.
