Nominations open for the 13th annual uPlan Holiday Wish Campaign

The youth-led group uPlan, seen in Memorial Peace Park last year, is accepting nominations for its 13th annual Holiday Wish campaign.

Nominations are now open for a youth led campaign to make holiday wishes come true.

This year uPlan has partnered once again with various organizations in the community for the 13th annual Holiday Wish Campaign.

Community members can nominate a friend, family member, or neighbour who live in either Maple Ridge or Pitt Meadows and who is in need of some holiday cheer.

They have to explain who they are nominating, why they are nominating them, and what the wish is that could brighten their holiday.

"This year, the Holiday Wish Campaign is more important than ever. With the rising cost of living, many in our community could use a little extra holiday cheer," noted Kim Dumore, uPlan liaison.

This year the uPlan team has more than $7,000 to help them grant wishes in the community.

To nominate someone, email uplanrm@gmail.com with the subject line 'Holiday Wish'.

The uPlan team will then select inspiring stories to make their wishes come true.

UPlan is the Youth Planning Table sub-committee based in Ridge Meadows.

In addition to the Holiday Wish Campaign, uPlan will also spreading joy through a craft booth at Christmas in the Park on Friday, Dec. 6, and helping out at Breakfast with Santa on Sunday, Dec. 14, at the Albion Community Centre, which is already sold-out.

"Whether it's a gift, an experience, or support, we're here to spread joy this holiday season," said the uPlan team online.

"Let's come together to make this holiday season unforgettable for those who need it most."
