It’s a busy day at the Haney Farmer’s Market in downtown Maple Ridge’s Memorial Peace Park.

There will be a corn roast happening at 11 a.m. with sweet corn from Chilliwack.

The Repair Cafe has been set up under the direction of the Ridge Meadows Recycling Society, and there are stations set up where volunteers will sew clothing, do carpentry, electrical work, string instruments and more. There is also a station where kids can tinker and learn their way around tools, to become do-it-yourselfers. Services are free, or by donation.

The Garibaldi Art Club is set up in the bandstand, Tom Hammel will be entertaining, and the Kids Korner will be planting vegetables.

The activities are in addition to local products on sale, from fruit to crafts to bannock.

The market, and the repair cafe, closes at 2 p.m.
