Country Fest prize book now available

The 2011 Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Country Fest prize book is now available.

Forms can be found on the Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Agricultural Association’s website (mrpmcountryfest.com).

There  are many categories to choose from, including Home Arts and Gardening.

To make the printing process easier, each  section is separated in the book.

If you do not have access to a computer, local libraries offer that service. Forms can also be printed at the Country Fest office on 105th Avenue.

Another option would be to go directly to the office and fill out the entry form there.

The entry form and payment deadline is July 11.

The theme of the 2011 Home Arts & Gardening Building is “Disco Beat,” a ’70s theme.

Special prizes will be awarded to exhibitors who create an item that best represents the ’70s theme.

Other gifts and prizes are also featured in each section.

“This is your opportunity to showcase how beautiful your hydrangeas are, or how delicious your blueberry loaf is and your chance to win fantastic prizes for them,” said organizers.

“If you have a talent for woodworking, photography or baking, the Country Fest is a great place to display your works and receive recognition for your special talent.

“Thousands of people will visit the Home Arts and Gardening Building to see the exhibitors’ projects, so make sure it’s your best work yet.”

Country Fest is an annual summer event for the entire family.

“It is the ideal place to share your personal and family masterpieces with the community and create memories for your family’s future.

“Every year, exhibitors enter their creations at the Country Fest to celebrate their talents. Be sure to enter this year and partake in the festivities.”

This will be the fourth consecutive year the gate at Country Fest will be free.
