Pendulums can be used in many different ways – to help with spiritual healing, to work with spirits, and to simply get the answer to yes and no questions.
This year Tina Clelland will be kicking off the Ridge Meadows Home Show Body Mind and Spirit Psychic Fair with a seminar on pendulums, in memory of her friend and medium Lynn Marie Holden, who passed away last year.
Clelland explained pendulums, whether they swing back and forth or from side to side, hold the answer to many questions.
"You can program a pendulum to swing if an energy is open and working correctly, and to be still if there is some assistance needed," she explained.
Pendulums can also swing if a person's energy's is out of balance and to be still once it's in balance, she said.
Clelland, who has been involved as one of the organizers of the psychic fair since 2010, is excited about the fair this year as there are many new readers taking part, and fascinating seminars.
"It's going to be good. I've got some really great seminars, readers who have been with me a long time, and I've got new readers, some have come back into the Lower Mainland when they were in a different province," she said.
This year seminars include: an intro into paranormal investigations by Cindy Mah; an intro into the tarot by Larry Legabowkoff; a question and answer session on developing mediumship; The Power Behind Manifesting by Laura Major; how to expand intuition by Lorraine Lukashyk, an introduction to mediumship by Ellen Osi and The Art and Purpose of Channeling by Kelly DelBianco.
There will be readings, healers and therapies, messages from beyond, and free demonstrations.
Julia Mare with Body Talk and Quantum Touch will be giving a talk entitled The Art and Purpose of Energy Healing, and Wendy Debra will be giving a talk called Opening to the Spirit and Magic of Trees.
"We talk about forest breathing or forest walking, and all of these things have a vibration or a frequency," explained Clelland, noting that trees are the same living kind of being.
When she talks to people, Clelland encourages them to hug a tree, to get help with their inner selves, or more energy, or connection with another living thing.
"When we commute or talk with trees, it's magic onto itself," she said.
And, in addition to everything else, Clelland will have a lot of new vendors taking part including those selling: metaphysical products, handcrafted jewellery, crystals, alchemy products, and more.
When Clelland first started the Psychic Fair at the show, it mainly housed readers. Since then it has evolved to an all-rounded show including energy workers and metaphysical vendors.
"It's a different dimension on how to assist people. It's awesome," she said.
