More volunteers in hair and makeup are still needed for the annual Ridge Meadows Help Portrait event this weekend.
Organizer Brenda Norrie said they are in need of three to four volunteers for hair and an equal amount for makeup.
This is the 11th annual event, which brings together professional hair stylists, makeup artists, photographers, and photo editors, who pool together their talents to create professional family portraits for those in the community who may not be able to afford a professional family shoot. One framed print is given free to every group.
“It’s been a real struggle this year to get them, we are very short in this regard,” said Norrie of the need for volunteers in hair and makeup.
So far about half of the available slots have been pre-booked for the event and whatever time slots are left will be available on a first come first served basis – if they are available.
Norrie said there are two different shifts of between three or four hours each for volunteers to choose from.
Help Portrait takes place in 67 countries across the globe. It was founded by American celebrity photographer, Jeremy Cowart, in 2008.
