Volunteers are being sought for Canada Day celebrations in Maple Ridge. The event will be held July 1 in Memorial Peace Park on 224th Street, and is free to the public, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The day will begin with the Haney Farmers Market, followed by interactive activities for children and families. The official ceremonies, flag-raising and awards will begin at 12:30 p.m. Entertainment, singing, dancing, activities, food and fun continue throughout the day. Also, participate in the neighbourhood “Show Your Colours for Canada Day” contest and post your best photos to the committee’s Facebook page and win prizes.
