The Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation has announced their new executive director.
Janine Davies will be taking on the role as of Monday, Jan. 20, taking over from Laura Butler who will be retiring in Februrary.
Davies has a background in executive leadership with a lot of experience in corporate philanthropy and fundraising.
According to the foundation she has a, "proven track record of building meaningful connections within diverse communities and a deep commitment to advancing philanthropic values."
Davies, the foundation added, is known for her visionary leadership, and she has exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
"Her collaborative and compassionate approach, along with her strong commitment to the Foundation’s mission, make her an ideal fit for this important role," said the foundation online.
Butler announced her retirement from the foundation's top position during the summer last year.
She had been with the foundation itself for two decades and in the role of executive director since July, 2017.
At the time she said her biggest achievement as executive director of the hospital foundation was helping donors understand that not all health care needs require big-ticket pieces of equipment.
Butler said that although she is retiring she will continue to volunteer in the community and donate to the foundation.
"We would also like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude to Laura Butler for her outstanding contributions to the Foundation over the years. Laura’s vision, dedication, and leadership have been instrumental in the Foundation’s success, and she will be greatly missed by all who have had the privilege of working with her," said the foundation's board of directors.
The transition to Davies will include a comprehensive handover process to ensure a smooth and seamless changeover.
"We are excited to welcome Janine to the team and are confident that she will continue to build upon the strong foundation laid by Laura. We look forward to the future and to the continued positive impact the Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation will have on our community," the foundation board added.
