Investment in youth

Alouette Addiction Services receives $2,500 donation from the Kiwanis Club of Golden Ears.

The Kiwanis Club of Golden Ears has donated $2,500 to Alouette Addiction Services to help youth drug and alcohol programs.

“There are more than 7,200 high school students in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows,” said John Cowan, Kiwanis Club president.

“The Kiwanis Club of Golden Ears is committed to the well being of everyone in our communities, but we do focus a lot of energy on our youth. We recognize that Alouette Addiction Services does a tremendous amount of outreach work, helping our youth, and we are proud to support them in their efforts.”

Alouette Addiction Services is a non-profit agency in Maple Ridge that provides free counselling to anyone affected, directly or indirectly, by drug or alcohol abuse and mental health issues.

“With this funding, we can increase our programming for youth and parents and we are absolutely thrilled that the Kiwanis Club of Golden Ears chose to donate to us,” said Annika Polegato, executive director for Alouette Addiction Services.
