The Me-to-We team at Kanaka Creek elementary has been working hard to help make dreams come true for sick children.
The Me-to-We team of Grade 7 students at the school raised $3,015.91 for the Make a Wish foundation thanks to all the students from Kanaka Creek who donated their spare change to fill the star piggy banks.
Me-to-We is a worldwide, non-profit organization that helps children in need and was founded by Craig and Mark Kielburger.
The Make a Wish foundation helps terminally ill children with medical conditions to fulfill their “wishes.”
For example, some children wish to go on their dream vacation, meet their hero, and to receive special gifts they wanted for a long time.
Make a Wish also helps cover necessary medical treatments.
“This team, thanks all the students, teachers, parents and staff from Kanaka who supported us to help make some wishes come true,” said Julia Coustol, a support teacher at Kanaka Creek.
Members of the Me-to-We team: Alex Bzowski, Jesse Bodnar, Ben Carr, Katelyn Cavaliero, Carly Craft, Mikaila Elder, Ashleigh Gemmell, Jason Kim, Chase Pederson, Hayley Schmidt, Erin Shugg, Puneet Sidhu and Sabrina Wu.
