Ladies donate to therapeutic riding

The North Fraser Therapeutic Riding Association receives $11,200 donation from the Meadow Gardens Ladies Club.

The Meadow Gardens Ladies Club has donated $11,200, raised at its annual charity golf tournament, to the North Fraser Therapeutic Riding Association.

“Therapeutic horseback riding enriches the lives of physically, emotionally and developmentally challenged children and adults,” said Judy Ennis, captain of the ladies club at Meadow Gardens Golf Club.

“Their quality of life is improved by the physical and emotional benefits of horseback riding.”

NFTRA is a non-profit, charitable organization that provides safe and professional therapeutic riding courses to children and adults with disabilities who live anywhere in the Lower Mainland.

• The Ridge Meadows South Asian Cultural Society has donated $2,000 to the Family Education and Support Centre.

The two organizations, along with the Maple Ridge library, have partnered to provide Diwali celebrations for Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows for the past three years and share a commitment and vision to promote multicultural activities and an appreciation for diversity.

The funds will be used to develop multicultural programming and services that are not funded by government.
