A Maple Ridge family has donated $10,000 to support the hospital in Maple Ridge.
The Rai family raised the money for the Ridge Meadows Hospital's 'From the Heart' campaign by donating $5,000 and then challenging guests at the Northern Lights 2024 Fundraising Gala in October to match their contribution.
"We are overwhelmed with gratitude as we celebrate the unwavering kindness and extraordinary generosity of the Rai family! Their commitment to giving back to our community is not just admirable, but truly inspirational," said the foundation in an online post on Wednesday, Jan. 15, when they received the $10,000 cheque from the family.
The Rai family began their philanthropic journey with the hospital foundation in August 2004 when they made a donation of $10,000 toward emergency and ambulatory care expansion through their business, H&I Roofing.
"Since then, they have consistently contributed to our campaigns," said Samantha Rosiczkowski with the foundation.
To date, the Rai family has contributed nearly $300,000 to the foundation through both their business and personal donations.
In 2023 the same challenge helped raise an impressive total of $30,000 for the 'From the Heart' campaign, said Rosiczkowski.
Their current contribution is earmarked for a new state-of-the-art Logic E10 Ultrasound unit for the Medical Imaging department.
"This cutting-edge technology provides high-definition imaging and advanced ergonomics, designed for general imaging and interventional procedures like guided biopsies and drainages. With this new addition, we will significantly enhance our diagnostic capabilities and improve patient outcomes in our community," explained Rosiczkowski.
"Every donation from the Rai family has empowered us to invest in essential medical equipment and sustain vital programs crucial for the health of those we serve," added Rosiczkowski, noting the family's close relationship with the Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation is a testament to what can be achieved when the community works together.
