Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Chamber of Commerce to celebrate local business this weekend – in-person

18th annual Business Excellence Awards taking place at Meadow Gardens Golf Club

The Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for an in-person celebration of local businesses this weekend.

The 18th annual Business Excellence Awards are taking place this Saturday, Mar. 5, at Meadow Gardens Golf Club in Pitt Meadows and will be an in-person event, following all current health and safety guidelines.

“It will be a thrill to have a live band and people in one room, networking, socializing, dancing,” said chamber president Mark Vosper, adding that he is excited to celebrate the local business community and leaders.

Vosper said there has been a last minute surge in ticket sales. There were only 41 tickets sold on Friday to 111 tickets sold by Tuesday.

However, there are still a few last minute tickets left for those wanting to attend the annual event.

The evening is scheduled to start with welcome address, followed by the dinner.

Awards will be handed out in seven categories.

There will be a silent auction and a door prize giveaway of a free five night stay at Mayan Palace at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta in Mexico – that will be drawn at the end of the night.

Allegro Music will be providing the live music.

“It’s fantastic. It’s a breath of fresh air for people to be able to dress up after all this time and be able to socialize, to dance,” he said.

The doors open at 5 p.m. for the 2021 Business Excellence Awards on Saturday, Mar. 5.

The event will take place from 6-11 p.m. at 19675 Meadow Gardens Way, Pitt Meadows.

Tickets are $115 for members and $130 for non-members.
